Safe recycling for hearing aid batteries
Many hearing aids still use disposable batteries, which contain materials that shouldn’t end up in landfill. Recycling them helps reduce waste, protect the environment and makes a real difference. Dropping off your used batteries at your local clinic is quick and easy.
How to recycle your hearing aid batteries
1. Collect used batteries
Keep all your used hearing aid batteries together at home. A small container or bag works well to safely store them until you’re ready to recycle.
2. Bring to your local clinic
Take your batteries to any New Zealand Hearing clinic. Simply hand them in at reception, there’s no need to make an appointment.
3. Sent for recycling
We send collected batteries to an approved recycling centre where they’re processed responsibly. Some materials are reused, helping reduce waste and protect the environment.
Anyone can participate
Whether you’re a current patient or just someone wanting to dispose of batteries responsibly, you’re welcome to bring them in for recycling.
