James Albert Mesina
Practice Manager/Ear Nurse, NZRN
James received his Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing at the University of Santo Tomas in the Philippines where he met his wife, Melissa. Subsequently, he studied at the Wairiki Institute of Technology in Rotorua to get his New Zealand Nursing Registration in 2008. He has been a registered nurse for two decades and has extensive experience in the field of nursing in New Zealand and overseas, caring for children, adolescents and the elderly within various scenarios including post-operative, infectious diseases, medical, rehabilitative, oncology, palliative and intensive care.
His areas of nursing expertise include elderly care, paediatric nursing, family counselling and support. Due to the changing demands and trends in nursing, he developed a strong particular interest in ear nursing. Recognising the increased safety and efficacy of ear micro suctioning compared to older methods, he has completed his essential ear micro suctioning training and certificate and is now fully equipped with sound knowledge, skills, and the latest technology available to do ear wax removals safely and effectively.
James has an inherently empathetic attitude towards his clients and likes to help them to the best of his abilities. He treats his clients as individuals and not as numbers. And he strongly believes that prevention is always better than cure. Untreated earwax build-up can lead to hearing loss, irritation, pain in the ear, dizziness, ringing in the ears and other problems. A short appointment with James can easily prevent these problems from occurring.
